WebADI Success (Smiley) Journal Import Error

I have a question from one of the user and want some advise. User tried to import journals using WebADI and the records were successfully imported (got success smiley :-)). But when the journal import ran, records got stuck in the interface with EC12 error. We know why it got stuck, but user wants to know why the WebADI says success, when the records got stuck in the interface.

Basically, would want to understand, when WebADI was uploaded with Validation option, why the error was not caught during the WebADI upload?

Appreciate if someone could help answer this or point to any document.
