Mobile notification of expenses awaiting approval

Hi Community

Can anyone say how an approver is notified that an expense report is awaiting approval on their mobile device. Can an alert be set audio/visual?  Or can an email notification be set up - as per the desktop-   We would like to ascertain if the approver would have to be checking their phone constantly or if specific notification could be obtained.
