Inventory organization code rename

We have an existing inventory organization with three digit organization code say "ABC" and it has transactions dating back to 2002. We would like to change this organization code to something else say "XYZ". The application permits this in the organization parameters definition screen. We would like to check with others to see if they have done this and does it cause any issues with the existing transactions, reports etc?
