Hi all:

I'm trying to help out a fellow worker that work as dba; he has a Oracle database 10g R2 U4; running on a solaris zone (whole root) over T5220 (32 GB RAM) with one nic Nated (cisco PIX 5X0 makes the nat) and another nic non-nated.

AFAIK the OS is Solaris 10U6 (Generic_142900-06). Obviously there are patches that aren't installed.

But my question is:

it's normal that nic link loss (cable disconnect or link to switch loss) make entire database crash (generate core).

I my experience that is not normal at any level; but besides patch install; I can't figure out where can be the problem. Any idea or suggestion?

Howdy, Stranger!
