Essbase will not start after in place 11.1.2.4 upgrade on AIX

Ran the 11.1.2.4 installer to upgrade an 11.1.2.3.500 environment to 11.1.2.4.  All configuration tasks passed.  Ran start scripts and was able to log into workspace, Shared Services, etc.  Error when trying to connect to Essbase and notice that it will not start.  The Essbase server log is not being updated but the opmn log is showing the following:

exec () 0509-036 Cannot load program ESSBASE because of the following errors:

rtld: 0712-001 Symbol adGlobGetFileExtension was referenced

                        from module ESSBASE (), but a runtime definition

                        of the symbol was not found

rtld:: 0712-002 fatal error:  exiting

Have validated the env variables against a working 11.1.2.4 server and ran slibclean on the server but no change.  Server is AIX 7.1 and EPM version is 11.1.2.4
