Approval required When a contract amendment is made in Service Contracts

Hi,

We have a requirement that whenever any amendment is made on a contract (When contract is opened for update and some corrections made), the system must send it for approval and only post approval the contract can be active back..

is there a way to achieve this by standard? Or any thoughts to achieving this functionality? Please help.
