Migrate Oracle 11.1.0.7 ASM diskgroups to new SAN (Windows)

I am looking to migrate my ASM diskgroups to newer San storage technology (Windows environment)

Assuming the LUNS will be correctly configured and presented to the server, I was planning on carrying out the following:

1. Run diskpart to create the logical extended partitions

2. Run asmtool to stamp these new partitions as being ASM disks.

3. Extend existing ASM disk groups onto new storage (with rebalance power 11 if during maintenance window)

4. When all successfully completed, remove legacy disks from ASM - including subsequent rebalancing.

This seems very simplistic but in an ideal situation I believe this should work - any thoughts please ?
