Oracle Reports Developer 10g is not working on Windows7 Pro

Team , I have had this Oracle Reports developer 10 g installed on my machine (using the universal installer -10g version from Oracle downloads) to open some old reports (RDFs) that my client has developed years ago . Basically I am trying to customize them as needed using the Windows OS 7 Professional. To my all trials in vain , whenever I try  opening the Reports builder I am being forced to close the program with a message windows saying that 'Reports Builder  has stopped working' .  Can experts here through some light on this to overcome .Am sure this
