Overriding Cache Expiry

G'day,

When you use the tag asset:filterassetsbydate, the cache on the page is adjusted to match the nearest start/end date of the assets in the list.

If you were to do it manually either via a query or through the search index (Lucene), how do you achieve the same? In an older version of the tags, you used to be able to set the cache expiry but this is no longer available. We currently have to set a short expiry like 15 minutes to simulate that but it's not ideal.
