Flex Accounting with Financial AAIs

Has anyone been able to use Flex Accounting with Financial AAIs?  We are trying to set it up for RC and PC AAIs in order to put a subledger on our AR and AP control accounts but have not been able to make it work.  From what I've found it looks like it doesn't work with AE transactions due to the business function not looking at Flex.  Thanks - Randy
