Unable to create an Instance in the Install Base

Hi,

We are on 11.5.10.  We have an instance in the IB, currently in CREATED status. The Accounting Classification is "Inventory"; Usage is also set to "In Inventory". The user is trying to manually update the owner party to an external party (this is an old record that was converted, so sales order information is not available). On the Party Relationships -> Owner page, the user is unable to update the owner field. There is a small note that says;

Note: This item instance cannot be updated.   Please see below.

Is there anyway that we can change ownership for this instance, in the absence of sales order ship/fulfill transaction?
