What is the Canadian Legislative patch?

I am learning about Oracle HRMS and read that, when installing, I need to ensure that I've applied a Legislative patch for, in our case, Canada. However, I'm not having any luck figuring out what said patch contains? Is it an HR thing? Payroll? Both? What functionality and/or data does it impact?

Any ideas about where I might read about this? I've gone from doc to doc but have only found generalizations so far.

Any help would be much apprecaited.
