What is Agent Next Gen?

I would like to know more about this subcomponent of the base platform of Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control 12c, referenced by the October 2015 Critical Patch Update.  I have searched and been unable to locate any related Oracle documentation on this subcomponent.  Anyone know a direct link to the Oracle documentation, describing this base platform subcomponent?  Usual set of documentation did not have a matching character string, identifying this subcomponent by name.
