Discrete Manufacturing vs Process Manufacturing

Dear Experts,

I'm looking for a presentation/whitepaper/document, etc. for " Discrete Manufacturing vs Process Manufacturing". There have been cases where the business requirements from the customer seems to require Discrete Manufacturing whereas their business is suitable for Process Manufacturing (like F&B - but what they require work center utilization, rough-cut capacity planning, etc.)

If there is a guidance for this (when to position Discrete Manufacturing, when to position Process Manufacturing), that will be highly helpful..
