which process purges captured archive logs in oracle streams ?

Hello all,

I see some archive logs  in sys.dba_registered_archived_log which are purgeable, they have value 'YES' in the cloumn PURGEABLE.

My Question : Who does the purging ? Which process removes these files. I did not find this information in the docs.

Any pointer welcome and thanks for listening !
