Can we use prepayment functionality without using OM?

Hi,

We want to use prepayment functionality and apply the prepayment receipt at the time importing the invoice from legacy systems.

1. We will get prepayment receipts from legacy systems

2. Once we get the related invoice/so number we want to apply the prepayment receipt.

we are not using Oracle Order Management.

Can we use oracle standard API's to customize this functionality. Appreciate your help.
