Output file attachment with a extension .EXCEL instead of .xls

Hi All,

Generating output from a concurrent program BI Publisher data definition/ template, and our default output type as EXCEL.

If clicking on the output button from within eBiz Apps after successful run of the program, the output opens as Excel within a browser window.

When scheduled the concurrent program with a delivery option to email the output file to an email address, the output is added to the email as  an attachment with a extension .EXCEL instead of .xls

We also applied the patch 16357683 but its not working on R12.1.3 Instance.

Can you advice what need to be done if want to send output file as an attachment in the email with extension as .xls
