What is reverse proxy setup in oracle applications R12 ? what is the use of it?

Hi Team,

We have to do PROD setup for multi node instance (R12.1.3)

   one applications node

   one database node

What s is reverse proxy setup for oracle applications ? what is the use of it? Do we required for the above architecture?

Can someone explain in brief about reverse proxy setup.
