Problematic P2V conversion

I have inherited a system built by somebody else, where there is no slice 2.  I have a need to perform a p2v on this server as it looks to be failing. When I run the 1st phase that takes the flash archive and creates the manifest file, it completes, However the 2nd phase (prepare) fails. It seems this slice#2 issue is causing a problem.  I read somewhere else that the manifest file can be bodged to get round this.  I cant find any documentation covering the format of this file.  Can somebody point me in the right direction please?
