Blocking locks - managing

We have a 2-node and 3-cluster 11r2g system and are using streams. Currently a problem has come up that has caused blocking locks on one node that we have a particular process running on. The locks have occurred only recently and three times in one and half weeks. I know the table the dml blocking locks are occurring and after I kill the blocking locks all goes back to normal. We have looked at the application/process code that updates that table but haven't figured it out yet. Could you use an hourly job to auto kill any blocking locks outstanding
