Does the F0902 record without a Subledger Record contain the total amount by FY/period or do all the

I know that an Account Balance record will be created with a Sub-Ledger and without a Sub-Ledger when posting is performed and the option is set to use a Sub-Ledger. Is the total account balance exist in one record or do all of the Sub-Ledger Account Balance records have to be accumulated when displayed on a Trial Balance or other display/report?

The reason I asked is at some point in our dark past someone chose to post Sales Orders using the Sales Order number as the SubLedger. Every order posted creates at least three Account Balance records when closed (Sales, Cost of Goods, and Inventory) and without regard to the Order Type. So by not using the Order Number as the Sub-Ledger could we not only keep from increasing the size of the F0902 but also improve retrieval of Account Balances on displays and reports?

Howdy, Stranger!
