How can we cancel very old requisitions which are no longer needed?

We still have very old requisitions which have been left open for so long. Our company needs to close these requisitions for good. The mass cancel handles only a few number of these yet we still have thousands which we need to clean up. There is no API that handles requisition headers and lines. Any suggestions?
