How can I blank out lifecycle status with EMCLI?

I am trying to set the properties for multiple targets with emcli. For all properties except lifecycle status, I can just put a space in the value to get it blanked out. Lifecycle status does not work for this. How can I blank out lifecycle status in EMCLI?
