Sparc M7-8 Oracle Database Version Support

Hi!, i've readed the product notes of this server and in the section "Minimum Supported Versions Of the Firmware, OS and Software" says that the version of Oracle Database supported is 12.1.0.2 plus BP13. This mean that we are not able to install 11g R2 (11.2.0.4) on the system?, or the version of database 12.1.0.2 is only needed to make use of the new feature software on a sillicon?. Thank for your help.
