Copying database from Backup

Can a database which is somehow now empty and shouldn't be, be rebuilt by simply copying a backup of the database over? Or will there need to be any special instructions to follow to have everything reference the database correctly?

The database in question is part of the RDF domain and can be found at:

rdf_planning/domain/RDF_Planning/ldom11/data/appsysf23.db
