FRA and guaranteed restore points

I came across FRA behaviour that I don't understand.

A solution would be great, an explanation satisfactory. Btw, we solved it by just throwing more and more space to the FRA. Not very elegant.

Oracle version 11.2.0.4, but likely the same behaviour in 12c.

Basically, my problem is that once you have a guaranteed restore point, all flashback files will remain in the FRA untill all restore points are deleted. Even when we flashback to that restore point, the files are still not eligable for deletion.

I came across this behaviour when we needed multiple restore points and wanted to be able to flashback to any of them at any given time. We had good reasons, that are not part of the discusiion here.
