Team Member – Is it a tool to identify what needs to be done?

edited Nov 17, 2015 1:53PM in Primavera (MOSC)

I’m working as part of the team supporting P6 at Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI).  We are currently using P6 EPPM 8.4.5 and have plans to upgrade to P6 EPPM 15.2.1 in December.

Starting on May 1, 2015 we rolled out Team Member web to 315 users.  We are at almost six months working with Team Member and recently had a meeting that allowed users to provide feedback.  A significant debate arose about whether Team Member is a tool to plainly update tasks or if it is used to identify what tasks need to be done and update those tasks.

The debate brought up the option of having activity owners use P6 web or BI Publisher reports to identify which tasks need to be done.  These would be tasks that have critical total float or have negative variance to the project baseline.  At PHI, there is much focus on executing the project per the dates in the project’s baseline, in order to stay on schedule.

Howdy, Stranger!
