Can Bank Rec reconcile external Point of Sale transactions?

Hi,

I have been asked whether JDE can be used to reconcile Point of Sale system transactions against bank transactions when the company in question is not currently using JDE.

I have limited experience with implementing JDE Financials and have been asked to determine whether JDE is appropriate for this scenario. We have separate companies for retail and manufacturing/wholesale businesses.  The manufacturing/wholesale business has implemented JDE 9.1 extensively across Manufacturing, SupplyChain, Sales and Financials.  The retail business is not currently on JDE.

I would really appreciate an explanation of the simplest way to achieve this and and a link(s) to further reading on the recommended option.
