Is necessary activate MES to use its functions in handheld?

Hi all.

I want to use only the function Incremental Backflush in the handheld which is inside responsibility MES for Process Manufacturing.

Until now I only assigned to me the responsibility and I'm using its functions without any problem.

I read in the MES User Guide (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18727_01/doc.121/e13690.pdf) , pg 2-4, that to enable MES for Process Manufacturing I should run a concurrent request in order to change the profile to GMO: MES for Process Manufacturing to Yes.

The question is: if I don't run this concurrent, what problems could occur? And if I run it, what could be impacted?
