Payroll Process Results - execute query fails with FRM-41008

We can no longer query in Payroll Process Results, getting error FRM-41008. Would you have tips or solutions?

We're running Oracle EBS 12.1.7, moving to 12.1.8 shortly. We've just upgraded to Internet Explorer 11 (IE11). Now in CA Super HRMS Manager > View > Payroll Process Results we specify some criteria and click Find. Then we press F11 in the body of the form to enter query mode, enter (e.g.) "Retro%" in the Type field, and press Ctrl-F11 to execute the query. Oracle responds with "FRM-41008: Undefined function key. Press Ctrl+K for list of valid keys."

All other forms seem to function correctly.
