Is Maturity Date in Bills Payable dependent on number of Future Periods?

Hi,

In my GL Ledger setup, the number of Future enterable periods = 1. Is this related to Maturity Date in Bills Payable or only related to Invoice Entry Date. I would like to pay an invoice with a maturity date 6 months from today. Is that possible when Future Enterable Period is set as 1?
