Inserting Concurrent Request Parameter Values In RTF Layout Template Not Working

I have a requirement to insert a Concurrent Request Parameter into a RTF Layout Template as the required field (Entered Currency) is not generated by the Oracle Standard Report xml.

The methodology used is outlined in  https://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/entry/get_your_parameters_here_guv which is consistent with  My Oracle Support reference 741301.1 Implement Concurrent Request Parameter Values In RTF Layout Template.

I ran the report with the following xml <?xdoxslt:getXDOProperties($_XDOCTX)?> and verified the parameter is there - xslt.P_CURR_CODE='EUR'

In the RTF Template I entered the following:

 

<?param@begin:P_CURR_CODE?>
