REST Web Services vs SOAP Web Services

Hi all,

We are working with Siebel 8.2.2.4 and we’ve been asked to answer the following questions:

  1. 1. Are REST web services supported for Siebel 8.2.2.4?

I know the answer is yes as I’ve seen in the Doc ID 1397454.1 and here in the community as well they are supported starting 8.2.2.x onwards.

However I’ve also read that it was introduced as part of “SAI for Oracle Fusion Middleware” so it seems you have to use Oracle Fusion Middleware to be able to use that feature and we don’t have FMW here. Is it correct or you can use REST web services anyway?
