Hi,

One of our production 8i (8.1.7.0.0, I know the version is historic but its present due to some constraint) database is facing intermittent block corruption.

It reported block corruption in one of the datafile -

***

Corrupt block relative dba: 0x05413055 (file 21, block 77909)

Bad header found during buffer read

Data in bad block -

type: 6 format: 2 rdba: 0x05413052

last change scn: 0x002f.a122d9dc seq: 0x1 flg: 0x02

consistency value in tail: 0xd9dc0601

check value in block header: 0x0, block checksum disabled

spare1: 0x0, spare2: 0x0, spare3: 0x0

***

Reread of rdba: 0x05413055 (file 21, block 77909) found same corrupted data

When we tried running DBVERIFY utility -

Howdy, Stranger!
