How to Auto Populate Favorites On Home Page

Hi

We would like to auto populate the home page favorites for all our users. I have discovered that there is no API for this.

There is a support document which discusses an existing API enhancement request for this: "How to Auto Populate Favorites On Home Page? (Doc ID 1460730.1)".

I logged a call and queried the status of this enhancement and I was told the enhancement was "unlikely to be released soon, if ever". Futhermore,  I was advised to ask if anyone in the community had created the necessary functionality themselves.

Has anyone ever implemented a custom version of this functionality in their system?
