Upgrade from 9.2.0.7 to 9.2.0.8 TEST db, while PROD db is running on same server

I have two 9.2.0.7 instances (PROD and TEST) running on same Windows servers, 32 bits.I want upgrade TEST instance to 9.2.0.8. According patch set docs, "You must install it in an existing Oracle9i release 2 (9.2.0.x.x) installation.". Is it possible to keep PROD instance running without be affected because of the patching?
