Using ATP to answer reschedule concerns

Use ATP based on planning data. Clients from time to time are asked to reschedule existing sales orders. They would love to be able to utilize ATP to drill down to see material constraints. They are using the ATP Inquiry through Advanced Supply Chain planning. How do other companies handle this type of inquiry?
