Windows drive layout for recovery
Hello,
We have Oracle Database 11g Standard Edition installed on Windows server using two drives – C and D.
Our recovery strategy was to put the more static data on the C drive with the operating system and back that up weekly or when the parameters or binaries change (patches for example). Then put the highly volatile data files on the D drive which would be backed up daily with RMAN online backup to FRA on D drive. The RMAN backup includes a backup of the spfile and control file. We also copy the following from the C drive to the D drive during the RMAN backup:
