Which date field does FDMEE pull from PeopleSoft?

I have a customer who shows evidence of FDMEE pulling from the "Original Date" field as opposed to the "Date" field in PS. However, their internal PS Admin tells them that it should be pulling from the "Date" field. I cannot seem to find documentation that states either case.
1. Which date filed does FDMEE pull from PeopleSoft, "Original Date" or "Date"?
2. Can this be changed?
3. Where can I find documentation on the subject?
