Fast Formula for Length of Service

Our requirement is "Employee should not get his/her length of service for the Suspension period i.e. Suspend Assignment".

From the fast formula user guide, we understood that we can make use of Fast Formula (Type - Length of Service Calculation) for these type of custom requirements. However there is not much information in the user guide to start building the formula.

Can some one please clarify the below.

1. Provide an idea on the sample syntax for Length of Service formula i.e. Inputs, Database Items and Return values etc. Sample formula would be even more helpful.

2. If I use a formula for Length Of Service, will this formula be used in all the places of different HRMS modules. For example, Length of Service in End Employment Form, Length of Service in My Information self-service function, Length of Service information in iRecruitment self-service functions.
