INS-35206 Directory is already in use, INS-35074 The specified SID is already in use

Hello.

Upgrading from 11.2.0.2 to 11.2.0.4

At the moment just trying to install the required files using the installer.

This is an "out of place" upgrade so I have created a new directory for the 11.2.0.4 home.

On Step 7, I get the following errors

INS-35206 Directory is already in use

and

INS-35074 The specified SID is already in use

The Global Database Name I have set to "readba" (the current $ORACLE_SID) plus the hostname

The Software Location is set to the new $ORACLE_HOME (11.2.0.4)

Database file location points to the directory that contains the datafiles for the current instance.

To try and fix the issue, I edited the oratab to comment out the existing "readba" entry, and then retried, this time getting only the INS-35206 Directory is already in use.
