Configurator Table Effective Dates on values

Is there a way to define effective dates on the values in the configurator table?

Scenerio

2x1 table setup.

user selects segment 1 and 2 which drives a different number to be pulled from the configurator table.

We want to be able to change that number effective some date in the future and expire the old number

Currently I believe the only way to do this would be to use the effective dates on the AIR and use a different Configurator table in that AIR.
