Hi All,

I have come across an issue when using Microsoft Lync behind an Acme Net-Net 4500. Because Lync does not support UPDATE messages (RFC3311) the SBC has to manipulate a response back. In the failed call scenario the ISP sends lync an UPDATE message with SDP (not changing any parameters) and SBC responds on its behalf with a 200 OK message but with no SDP answer. This causes no audio to be received by the far end from the Lync.

My question is:

Does an UPDATE with an SDP offer require an SDP response for the media path to setup correctly?
