Configurator transient sub assembly

I'm trying to group common configurator items into a sub assembly to make maintaining the configurator easier. I would like any routings/parts of the sub assembly to roll into the parent.

Scenerio.

parent configured items    1000-1100

sub assembly configure   2000

I've got 100 different items(1000-1100) that can be configured with 5 different add'ons

I've configured the sub assembly item (2000) as a P AIR rule.

When I enter the order the configurator shows the correct price rolled up into the parent.

When I run R31410 the sub assembly item shows up in my parts list. I don't want this. I want any items attached to the parts list of the sub assembly to roll into the parts for the parent item.
