Hazardous Material Child components

Hello,

Our business is trying to come to grips with how to label Finished Goods that are set for shipment when there are child components in the BOM that are hazardous.  Right now we have no visibility other then tribal knowledge that Finished Good may have hazardous child components.

I researched that:

  • There are UN Numbers and Hazard Classes stored at the item level for Purchasing activities; nothing related to Shipping.
  • A Pick-Release rule based on Item Categories can be created for an item for different deliveries.  Not too familiar with this option but when I mention this to the functional experts they begin to frown.
