How to delete batches from prior month?

We have two batches in error status, unable to be posted, because they are from a prior month.  The batch dates are 12/1/15 and G/L dates are 11/25/15.

The batch error says:  "The date being edited is in the current year, but in a prior month"

The user would like to delete and re-enter but has been unable to delete.  Alternatively, can she change the G/L date to 12/1?

We are currently on version 8.0.
