What should be the min_Sales_date? Example needed

I run forecast every week on Demantra. Now suddenly there is an issue related with min_sales_date. EBS Full download failed. Hence when I set min_sales_date to 1/1/1900, EBS runs fine. But I do not think that is what it is supposed to be. Could anyone please help as to what should the min_sales_date should actually be?
