Archive Log generation increases gradually over a period of time

Hi,

We have implemented Oracle DB 11gR2 (11.2.0.3) Single Instance DB and have Oracle DG Physical Standby Database for DR Site. DB size today is around 450 GB.

I have been noticing that the Archive Log generation per day is gradually increasing and is now at 35 GB per day. In Nov 2015, we re-started the DB and the Archive Log generation dropped to around 2 GB per day and since then gradually increasing on daily basis. There is no change in the application, DB or workload. I understand that DG causes increased Archive Log generation due to enabling Force Logging, I  am wondering how and why the Archive Log generation should increase over a period of time.
