Classic HFM Application Migration from 11.1.1.2 to 11.1.2.4.100

Hello,

We are planning a migration from 11.1.1.2 release to 11.1.2.4.100. We performed a clean installation of 11.1.2.4 version on a new server and applied the 11.1.2.4.100 patch. Would it be possible to run the "11.1.2.3.701 copyapp utility" to migrate an application from "11.1.1.2" version to "11.1.2.4.100" and then run the Upgrade Applications from Earlier Release on the epm configurator? 

I know the supported path is Install Maintenance release from 11.1.1.2 to 11.1.1.4, and then upgrade to 11.1.2.3 and finally again install maintenance release to 11.1.2.4.  However it currently doesn't seem feasible. Wouldn't it be possible to use the copyapp and upgrade utilities to perform  these steps on the database without having to install all these different versions?
