Rac 11gr2 on Suse Enterprise Server 11.3 - device persistence

Hi,

We have a two node RAC on Suse ES 11.3 with Oracle 11gr2 Standard Edition and yesterday we did reboot one of the nodes. After the reboot ASM refused to restart and after a while we noticed that the name a some storage devices where switched: one of the ASM raw devices that mapped to /dev/sdg before the start was mapped to /dev/sdf.

We did solve this (as a workaround) by editing the /etc/raw file: changed raw3:sdg to raw3:sdf. This a short term 'solution' of course because after a reboot it could change again.

So we need device persistence.

Howdy, Stranger!
